The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Wednesday announced a reduction in electricity tariff to ensure relief to the consumers with especially relief of Rs 4.3 per unit to the K-Electric consumers, while a Rs 0.50 per unit cut in the rest of the country’s consumers.
The development came after Nepra’s hearing of the Power Division’s motion seeking a uniform basic tariff, contending that tariff rationalisation is not aimed at raising any revenues for the federal government but in fact enables the fulfilment of parameters outlined in the Constitution as well as the policy.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has issued separate notifications for the reduction in electricity prices as part of the monthly adjustment.
The notification states that electricity consumers will get relief from this reduction in their July bills. For K-Electric consumers, this reduction has been made under the monthly adjustment of April 2025.
According to the notification, the reduction in electricity prices for the rest of the country has been made under the May 2025 adjustment.
